![]() We regret honking at that harmless driver. We regret how fast we sent that text and wish we could take it back. ![]() That event left an impression on all of us. Luckily my husband did not react to the driver’s reaction and he drove away without incident. The driver of the car in turn reacted and actually turned his car around yelling expletives at our family. ![]() My husband reacted instinctually and yelled at the driver to stop at the stop sign and slow down. On our walk one morning a car did not come to a full stop at a stop sign as our family was about to cross the street. When my stepson was in elementary school my husband, dog and I would often walk him to school in the morning. We react to world events on Twitter and read the reactive “Twitterstorms” that abound from our own president. We react to our partner or child when they make a mess with impatience or judgment. We react when a car pulls in front of us in traffic and we honk the horn, yell or worse. We react when we receive a text or an email that rubs us the wrong way and immediately send back a snarky response. We are living in a society of reactivity and over-reaction.
